As geopolitical tensions and climate-related disasters continue to intensify, corporate resilience has become a critical indicator of supply chain stability. On July 15, Chitec Technology participated in the “2025 Urban Resilience (Air Defense) Drill” organized by the Changhua County Government, taking a proactive step to evaluate its emergency response and business continuity capabilities in high-risk scenarios.
The drill was guided by Changhua County Magistrate Wang Huei-mei, along with officials from central and local government agencies. Chitec’s facility in the Changhua Coastal Industrial Park was designated as a key exercise site, where a simulated missile strike triggered a scenario involving plant collapse and hazardous chemical leakage.
Chitec’s Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team took part in the full-scale drill, carrying out mock operations such as chemical detection, leak containment, site evacuation, and emergency medical response. The company collaborated closely with the Fire Department, Environmental Protection Bureau, and Public Health Bureau to set up emergency stations for both injured personnel and displaced individuals.
During the drill, Chitec’s EHS personnel quickly mobilized, using specialized instruments to detect simulated toxic concentrations and leading efforts to contain the leak within minutes. At the same time, employees assisted in transporting “injured” persons and supported rescue teams with on-site medical procedures. These rapid, hands-on actions effectively simulated first-response measures in a real emergency and provided critical training for future incident preparedness.

From Disaster Preparedness to Business Continuity: Building a Culture of Resilience
Chitec emphasized that this was more than a routine government-led drill—it was a real-world opportunity to validate the company’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and risk control systems. The drill demonstrated resilience across three key dimensions:
- Occupational Safety and Environmental Risk Management: Rapid response to chemical and toxic leaks to mitigate environmental impact.
- Employee Safety and Community Protection: Enhanced capabilities in evacuation, first aid, and emergency support to protect staff and surrounding residents.
- Operational Continuity and Supply Chain Stability: Stress-testing operations under extreme scenarios to reduce downtime and ensure uninterrupted global supply.
ESG in Action: Resilience as the Foundation of Sustainability
This exercise also reflected Chitec’s ongoing commitment to Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles through concrete actions:
- Environment (E) Strengthened chemical management practices to reduce the risk of environmental disasters.
- Social (S) Active engagement in community preparedness, working hand-in-hand with government agencies and local stakeholders.
- Governance (G) On-the-ground validation of risk control and BCP implementation, reinforcing stakeholder trust in the company.
Chitec Technology firmly believes that “resilience is the best guarantee of sustainability.” The company remains committed to continuously improving its EHS systems and risk monitoring capabilities—ensuring that, no matter what challenges arise, it can protect employees, safeguard its supply chain, and reliably serve global customers.
